You BELONG here.

We desire to become like jesus.

our mission is to build the kingdom.

We believe that nobody is too far to have a relationship with Jesus and here at The Bridge Fellowship we pursue authenticity. We are real, we are changed, and we are meant for community. We were made for relationships and we want nothing more than for you to be a part of our TBF family.
We believe we are called to be witnesses of Jesus by sharing our story with others. When God saves us, we desire to become more like Him. We strongly commit ourselves to the teachings of God’s Word.
We believe that discipleship includes replication and that we are to replicate ourselves with our faith, talents, passions, and gifts.  A disciple is one who: worships Jesus, is being changed by Jesus, obeys Jesus, and teaches others to do the same.
We believe that we are to use our gifts and passions to serve God and serve others through: serving in the church, serving the next generation, and serving through missions.

OUR LEAD PASTOR

In March 2005, Pastor Phil and Sharra Wilson stepped out in faith with a simple vision: to plant a church where people from every stage and story could encounter the hope of Jesus and know they belong. What began with a handful of committed families in Mt. Juliet became The Bridge Fellowship, which officially launched on September 18, 2005, at West Wilson Middle School in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee.

From the beginning, The Bridge Fellowship has been passionate about helping people find and follow Jesus, building meaningful relationships, and serving the community with the love of Christ. In 2011, TBF opened its current building in Lebanon, and as God continues to grow the church, the vision remains the same: to create a place where people can belong, become who God has called them to be, and build His Kingdom for generations to come.

What We Believe

God
We believe that there is one God who is the Creator and Ruler of all things. God exists in three separate persons - God the Father, God the Son (Jesus,) and God the Holy Spirit - which is the Trinity.. Each person of the Trinity is fully God. (Genesis 1:1; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; John 1)
God The Father
We believe that God the Father, the first person of the Trinity,  reigns sovereignly over His creation with care, love, and wisdom. All of history unfolds according to His purposes, all pointing to His glory.
Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ is God the Son, the second person of the Trinity. Having existed for all eternity, He took on human likeness and was born of a virgin. Being fully God and fully man, He lived a sinless life, performed miracles, and ultimately died on the cross, substituting His life for our own. His death and resurrection three days later atoned for sins and defeated death. We as Christ followers wait for His return. (Isaiah 9:6; John 1; Philippians 2:5-6; 1 Timothy 2:5, 3:16)
The Holy Spirit
We believe that God the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity. He inspired the writers of the Holy Bible, and today, He brings understanding as we read the Bible. He convicts people of sin, draws people to repentance to the Lord, and securely seals the Christ follower with God. It is the work of the Holy Spirit in the Christ follower that provides spiritual growth. Additionally, the Holy Spirit gives spiritual gifts to the Christ follower at the point of salvation for the benefit of the church. (Joel 2:28-29; Acts 2, 10:38-47, 19:1-6; Galatians 5; Ephesians 1:13)
Mankind
We believe that all humans - male and female - are created in the image of God and are called to be like Him in character. This gives all humans purpose, dignity, and value, and unfortunately, a tragic result of sin is that this image is marred. (Genesis 1:27; Isaiah 53:6; 59:1-2; Romans 3:23)
Jesus' Blood
The Blood that Jesus Christ shed on the cross was sinless and is completely sufficient to cleanse mankind of all sin. Jesus allowed Himself to be punished for both our sinfulness and our sins, enabling all those who believe to be free from the penalty of sin, which is death. (Romans 5:9; Colossians 1:20; 1 John 1:7; Revelation 5:9)

The Church
We believe the Church is the body and bride of Christ, composed of Christ followers. We believe in the presence of the local church, which regularly gathers for corporate worship, prayer, and community. At TBF, we desire for Christ followers to be “fully engaged” in the vision and mission of the church. (John 17:20-23; Ephesians 1:22-23, 2:19-22)

Eternal Security
We believe that God gives eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ, and therefore, Christ followers are eternally secure in their salvation. Salvation is maintained by the grace and power of God, not by our self-effort. It is the grace of God that gives us this security. (John 10:29; 2 Timothy 1:12; 1 Peter 1:3-5)

The Gifts of the Holy Spirit
We believe that since the Holy Spirit gives gifts to Christ followers, those gifts are to further the work of God, primarily within the local church. We believe that the Bible gives parameters for the gifts of the Holy Spirit, and these gifts work in harmony ultimately to the glory of God and for the good of His followers. (Romans 12:4-8; 1 Corinthians 12:1-31, 14:1-40; Hebrews 2:4; 1 Peter 4:10)
Marriage
We believe that the Bible teaches that marriage is defined as a covenant relationship between a naturally born man and a naturally born woman. We believe that marriage is a good gift that God gives to humans, and it is a picture of God’s love for the church. (Genesis 1:26-28; Matthew 19:4-6)
Redemption
Mankind was created good and upright, but by choosing sin, he fell. His only hope of redemption is in Jesus Christ, the Son of God. (Genesis 1:26-31, 3:1-7; Romans 5:12-21.)

Repentance
Repentance is the commitment to turn away from sin in our lives and to follow Christ, which allows us to receive His redemption and to be regenerated by the Holy Spirit. Through repentance, we receive forgiveness for our sins. (Acts 2:21, 3:19; 1 John 1:9)

Resurrection
Jesus Christ was physically resurrected from the dead in a glorified body three days after His death on the cross. In addition, both the saved and the lost will be resurrected: those who are saved to the resurrection of life and those who are lost to the resurrection of eternal damnation. (Luke 24; John 20:26-28; Acts 24:15; 1 Corinthians 15:42-44; Philippians 3:21)
Salvation
We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ: His death, burial, and resurrection. Salvation is a gift from God, not a result of our good works or human efforts. We will either be eternally separated from God by sin or in union with God through forgiveness and salvation. (Acts 16:31; Romans 10:9-10;  Galatians 2:16; Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5, John 3:16; Romans 6:23; 1 John 5:11-12; Revelation 20:15)

Water Baptism
We believe that baptism is the outward symbol of faith and redemption through Christ. We believe in baptism by immersion and that it is a step of obedience commanded by the Bible. Baptism is a symbolic act, not a means of salvation. (Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38, 10:47-48)

Sanctification
Sanctification is the ongoing process of yielding to God’s Word and His Spirit to complete the development of Christ’s character in us. It is through the present ministry of the Holy Spirit and the Word of God that the Christ Follower is enabled to live a Godly life. (Romans 8:29, 12:1-2; 2 Corinthians 3:18; 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24)

Scripture
We believe that the Holy Bible is the Word of God. It is inspired, infallible, inerrant, and the final authority for the life of a Christ follower. We believe that both the Old Testament and the New Testament reveal the character of God, man’s need for a Savior, and God’s plan for the redemption of mankind.
(Psalm 119:160; Proverbs 30:5; Romans 16:25-26; 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21)

Second Coming
We believe that Jesus Christ will physically return to Earth for a second time to culminate human history and fully establish His Kingdom. The Bible teaches that this time is at an undisclosed time. (Matthew 24:30, 26:63-64; Acts 1:9-11; 1 Thessalonians 4:15-17; Revelation 1:7)
Communion
We believe that Communion, or the Lord’s Supper, is a symbolic demonstration of Christ’s sacrifice on the cross for our sins. In regularly taking the elements - bread and grape juice - we reflect on the punishment that Christ lovingly endured on our behalf so that our sins would be atoned for and we could be rightly related to Christ. (Matthew 26:26-29; 1 Corinthians 11:23-25)
“I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know Him better. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which He has called you, the riches of His glorious inheritance in His holy people.”
